Upcoming Events at Northstar & American Student Transportation | Spring Team Activities

Spring is one of the best times of the year at Northstar Bus Lines and American Student Transportation. As the school year begins to wind down, our team looks forward to a season filled with friendly competition, community involvement, and opportunities to spend time together outside of routes.

From themed celebrations to volunteer events, these activities help keep our terminals connected and energized. If you're part of our team — or thinking about joining it — here’s what’s coming up.

St. Patrick’s Day – Wear Green

We’re kicking things off with a little luck of the Irish. On March 17, drivers and staff are invited to wear green while on shift or around the terminal. It’s a fun way to bring some color and energy into the garage during the final stretch of winter.

You never know — there may even be a few surprise treats for those who show the most spirit.

March Madness Bracket Challenge

A little friendly competition never hurts. Our annual March Madness bracket challenge gives everyone the chance to test their basketball predictions and compete for bragging rights around the terminal.

Brackets must be submitted before the tournament begins. Whether you’re a college basketball expert or just making guesses, it’s all about having fun and seeing whose picks survive the longest.

Easter Bunny Photos

In early April we welcome a special visitor to the terminal — the Easter Bunny.

Employees are invited to stop by for photos with the bunny. Many drivers bring their kids or grandkids, and it’s become a favorite tradition that helps make the terminal feel like family.

Parade Committee Meeting

Warmer weather means parade season is just around the corner. We’ll be holding a planning meeting at Northstar Bus Lines to prepare for upcoming community parades.

Drivers interested in helping decorate buses, plan themes, or participate in parade events are encouraged to attend. These events are a great way to represent our company while connecting with the communities we serve.

Cinco de Mayo Taco Bar

One of the most anticipated events of the spring is our Cinco de Mayo taco bar. Drivers, mechanics, and office staff can stop by the break room for a great lunch and a chance to relax between routes.

Food always brings the team together, and this event is a great excuse to take a break, catch up with coworkers, and enjoy some great tacos.

Highway Clean Up Day

Giving back to the community is an important part of our culture. In May, employees and their families are invited to participate in our Adopt‑A‑Highway clean up event.

For a few hours, our team works together to help keep local roadways clean while spending time outdoors. It’s a great reminder that our impact goes beyond transportation — we’re also proud members of the communities we serve.

Why These Events Matter

Events like these are about more than just fun activities. They help build camaraderie, strengthen friendships, and remind us that we are part of something bigger than a daily route.

At Northstar Bus Lines and American Student Transportation, we believe that a strong team culture makes a difference — not just for our employees, but for the students and families who rely on us every day.

If you’re already part of the team, we hope to see you at these upcoming events. And if you’re considering becoming a school bus driver in Maple Grove or Blaine, this is just a small glimpse into the supportive and welcoming environment you’ll find here.
